{"id":161,"date":"2009-01-31T19:41:37","date_gmt":"2009-02-01T00:41:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.railfanwindow.com\/blog\/?p=161"},"modified":"2009-01-31T19:44:55","modified_gmt":"2009-02-01T00:44:55","slug":"bypassing-the-a-platform-at-fulton-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.railfanwindow.com\/blog\/2009\/01\/bypassing-the-a-platform-at-fulton-street\/","title":{"rendered":"Bypassing the (A) platform at Fulton Street"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.railfanwindow.com\/gallery2\/v\/TempByDate\/album275_0\/DSC_3704a.jpg.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.railfanwindow.com\/gallery2\/d\/141327-2\/DSC_3704a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It seems that the NY Times is reporting that NYCT is claiming that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/01\/31\/nyregion\/31fulton.htm\">a new passageway will be built<\/a> to bypass the (A) and (C) lines platform at Fulton Street for people transfering between subway lines east and west of the (A).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With the federal money, the transportation authority will put up a new glass station on the corner of Broadway and Fulton Street, which is now a fenced-in dirt lot, according to Elliot G. Sander, the agency&#8217;s executive director.<\/p>\n<p>The authority will also go ahead with a plan to build a bypass hallway in the area where the A and C lines stop, said Kevin Ortiz, an authority spokesman.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will be able to eliminate the maze of ramps,&#8221; Mr. Ortiz said of the station, which recorded 66,293 MetroCard swipes in December 2007, the most recent month for which statistics were available, making it the seventh busiest of the city&#8217;s 468 subway stops.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So what in the world are they talking about?
